Strawberry ice cream using real strawberries and wholesome fresh milk and cream.
Ingredients
125ml (1/2 cup) full cream milk
125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
1/3 cup caster sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste
400g frozen strawberries
Method
1. Place milk, cream, sugar, vanilla and strawberries in the Vita-Mix Wet Blade Container in order listed.
2. Secure 2-part lid. Select VARIABLE, speed 1.
3. Turn on the machine and quickly increase speed to 10, then to HIGH, using the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades whlile running. Run machine for 30 seconds or until the sound of the motor changes and 4 mounds should form in the mixture. Stop the machine and serve immediately.
Tips
Tip 1: Always load the container in the order listed in the recipe.
Tip 2: If necessary, use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades while processing.
Tip 3: Freeze unused ice cream in an air tight container. When ready to use, allow to soften at room temperature for 8-10 minutes.
Tip 4: Play with the amount of milk and cream. For a creamer ice-cream use 250ml cream (no milk). For a more sorbet-style use 250ml of milk (no cream) and reduce sugar to 1/4 cup.
